Jaya Vaswani, JAI HO FIT co-founder and choreographer and co-founder and Creative Director of was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. From 1998 to 2004 Jaya lived in London and studied at Richmond, The American International University. She later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Media Communications and Psychology with honors.  She then moved to Los Angeles, California in May 2004, to pursue her Bollywood dreams. In Los Angeles, Jaya worked with three different dance companies: blue13 dance, Taal Dance and Raqs Entertainment. During this time, she starred and featured in music videos and commercials such as Shahab Tiam’s ‘Dhoktare Kabuli' music video. She also performed at the Levitt Pavilion in Pasadena, California and the Ford Amphitheater. Jaya has traveled to choreograph, perform, judge competitions and teach Bollywood Dance. In January 2009, she choreographed for the Utep Goldiggers and performed with them at the UTEP Basketball half-time show. This resulted in an appearance on an ABC News Special and Despierta El Paso. Today, Jaya’s passion for Bollywood dance has led her to work with different organizations to educate and create an awareness of Indian 

Varun Arjun Tewari, JAI HO FIT co-founder and choreographer was born in Bombay (Mumbai) India but raised in Miami, Florida where he currently resides with his wife Janet. Varun began dancing at an early age mostly just for fun until his college years where he attended Florida International University. It was then when Varun took his passion for dance to the professional level. He was the captain and choreographer of his school’s bhangra team for several years along with another All-state, All-star mens only team that competed in Bhangra competitions all over the United States and Canada. Along with his dancing background, Varun is multi-talented with a third degree black belt in Olympic Style Taekwondo and Mixed Martial Arts, a professional DJ, Emcee, and firefighter/paramedic. He is also quite the musician as well, Varun is a self-taught dholak and dhol player. He studied tabla, harmonium, and classical Indian music in India, and continues to do so today. After serving in the US Army, Varun uses his experiences and passion for dance and fitness to train, motivate, and inspire others to be their best. 


Janet Rani Uribe Tewari, JAI HO FIT founder and choreographer was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. She started dancing as soon as she could stand up and keep her balance. At the age of 12, Janet began her fitness journey and hasn’t stopped since. Being from the salsa capital of the world, music, dance and fitness was always part of her daily life so it was very natural for her to continue that lifestyle in her college years when she came across her first Bollywood movie – Devdas. Janet instantly fell in love with everything Indian! Its Bollywood movies, its vibrant colors, energetic music, and its culture. As any good student would, Janet began to dive head first into Bollywood music realizing that there were other sights and sounds that made up Bollywood music like African, Bellydance, and Hawaiian. She studied each of these intensely and has FUSED them all together into this program – JAI HO FIT – VICTORIOUS WORKOUT! Janet graduated with a double major in International Business and Sports Nutrition in Colombia.
